NBU seeks information on parking issue from 2015 provincial budget

The recent provincial budget contained several statements that will have an impact on members of the New Brunswick Union. One of the issues involves parking for members of the public service.
Here's how Finance Minister Roger Melanson announced the change during the 2015 budget speech:
"...government will adopt a phased approach towards eliminating free parking for government employees in our urban centres across the province. This will encourage the use of our municipal transit systems and carpooling, which will benefit both the environment and the bottom line of municipalities and the province."
As you can see, the statement is light on details. It doesn't provide information on a timeline or how it will be implemented. Because of this, the union requested clarification from the province and have been told its still looking into the process.
Our legal counsel is waiting for more detail on this issue. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
